The refashion of retro

“I loved the fact that my era is coming back,” Smiles 69 year old Joyce Malyne, a retired fashion buyer, as she fumbles through stacks of old Motown vinyl. “It is remarkable how in vogue the forties, fifties and sixties’ shapes and designs ( Kitchen design Sydney ) are at the moment. Funny how these things come round again…”

We live in a modern mirror of the past and as a result much of the most popular designs ( Kitchen design Sydney ) of clothes, interior, car and house accessories also reflect what was fashionable fifty years ago. From skinny jeans to Sienna Miller and Kate Moss to see the shapes of hulls Gordon Ramsay can not eat, everything seems to look past the legendary copy style.

Johnny Shotton, Manager at To Be Worn Again, Brighton’s largest second hand clothes warehouse, approves that there is nothing more fashionable than clothes from the sixties at once. He says: “We have so many people after clothes from that era. It’s untrustable however nice for us! There is a mod night twice a month at present, playing music from the fifties and sixties- and authentic Rock n’ Roll bands seem to be emerging left, right and centre.” So why is it that we have turn on progression and gone for revival instead this season?

Richard Jayston, a 27 year old music correspondent for Rockfeedback.com, comments: “Things that are that good are never going to disappear. Early music from forties blues to the sixties soul, was just so good. It has impacted each thing subsequently anyway as a result,it is only natural that children begin turing back to the roots of this impact. It is such as the clothes-people need to wear what their parents wore for one reason-since people want what’s nice!”

Joyce warns the over confidant stylish ( kitchen renovation ) generation below her, however, admitting that: “at the time you know you look good but you think that taking it further and into your home is a good idea too.
